Summary:
Learn entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and proper tool usage in the Cabinet Finish Shop under direct supervision.
Develop foundational knowledge and problem-solving abilities in preparation for advancement to technician level.
Gain proficiency in furniture finish preparation using standard safety procedures, design/engineering drawings, and materials such as sandpaper, polishes, adhesives, solvents, and masking mediums.
Use the material tracking system to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off completed work.
Follow all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
Use personal protective equipment and assist in ensuring protection of the aircraft interior.
Support the development and implementation of related safety and efficiency initiatives.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience in woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting in a technical environment
Completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinetmaking preferred
Youth apprenticeship program completion in the current year in a related field preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any assigned shift
Must be computer literate
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
