Description An innovative manufacturing company in Encinitas is hiring a Cost Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will focus on cost analysis, inventory tracking, and manufacturing cost control processes. The ideal candidate has a background in manufacturing or production accounting and is eager to contribute to a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: + Analyze and report on production costs and variances, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of manufacturing expenses. + Develop and maintain costing systems, including tracking of raw materials, labor, and overhead allocation. + Assist with financial statement preparation by ensuring cost-related data is reflected properly. + Perform monthly reconciliations of inventory and cost accounts. + Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. + Monitor inventory levels and provide insights to management regarding slow-moving or excess stocks. + Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning related to cost and expense management. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. + 3-5 years of cost accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred. + Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). + Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management. + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups. + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
