The impact you will have in this role:

The Credit Policy and Control Analyst is responsible for completing quality assurance reviews to monitor processes for the counterparty credit group being completed timely and accurately. This credit risk monitoring process includes annual reviews, ongoing surveillance of monthly/quarterly financial data, ongoing examination of negative news, maintenance of the credit risk rating matrix (CRRM) model, and other ongoing monitoring.

The analyst will also be counted on to proactively identify and collaborate with the team and management on any issues, as well as assisting on various projects to help the CCR team in its directive of supervising credit risk for the organization. These projects will likely include reviewing policies, procedures and job aids for accuracy and alignment to the regulatory requirements, analyzing current procedures to identity opportunities to streamline processes, and coordinating with other departments on initiatives such as automating processes.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance reviews for ongoing surveillance processes and ad-hoc reviews of processes.
  • Analyze policy, procedures and job aids for alignment and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Establish ways to improve processes.
  • Work with internal departments, including Market Risk, Product Management, Relationship Management, Legal, and Compliance, to maintain transparency when assessing potential risk.
  • Abide by risk-related policies and standard processes of CCR, and ensure compliance with CCR's policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate the behaviors and proficiencies that build a risk management mentality in the organization.
  • Demonstrate regulatory awareness and compliance and ensure adherence to risk-related policies and standard methodologies.
  • Complete Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk, escalating when appropriate

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in credit risk with experience in financial statement analysis and the understanding of a broad range of financial products.
  • Bachelor's or associate degree preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Prior audit, governance, accounting, quality assurance or quality improvement experience where keen attention to detail ability was a requirement for success
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
