Job Description
System One is actively recruiting for an Electrical Engineer for a permanent position located in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
Electrical Engineer Requirements:
+ Design and specify shipboard electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communications, automation, navigation, and propulsion support systems.
+ Develop and review technical drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, load analyses, and one-line diagrams.
+ Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, USCG, IEEE, NEC).
+ Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and production teams during all phases of construction.
+ Support procurement by specifying electrical equipment and reviewing vendor documentation.
+ Oversee system installation, troubleshoot issues during construction, and support testing and commissioning activities.
+ Prepare and maintain technical documentation, change orders, and engineering reports.
+ Interface with clients, classification societies, and regulatory inspectors during inspections and certifications.
Electrical Engineer Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in marine, industrial, or shipyard environments preferred.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
+ Strong understanding of electrical systems design, power distribution, and control systems.
+ Familiarity with shipbuilding processes and standards.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools including Excel, Word and Outlook.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
+ Willingness to work in a shipyard setting and occasionally board vessels under construction.
