Geotechnical Engineer - Houston, Texas

About the Role

An industry-leading engineering firm based in Houston is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for a variety of infrastructure, industrial, and energy-related projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct subsurface investigations, including field exploration and laboratory testing programs.
Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, retaining structures, embankments, slope stability, and ground improvement.
Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for civil and structural design teams.
Interpret geotechnical and geological data to inform engineering decisions.
Oversee subcontractors during field investigations and ensure quality control.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to deliver safe and cost-effective solutions.
Support construction phase services such as site visits, inspections, and responding to RFIs.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months.
5–10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in infrastructure, oil & gas, or commercial projects.
Proficiency in geotechnical software.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
