Job Description

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Network SME is responsible for supporting operational design, installation and testing of newly installed and existing network and security devices across multiple classification domains in support of a global footprint. The successful candidate will work with a high functioning team based in Maryland supporting other network technicians in multiple states and countries.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:With no supervision and minimal guidance, assist with the evaluation, design, documentation, installation/implementation, testing, perform problem isolation and resolution of network errors.Install data and voice cables for business cable television and router/switched systems.grade existing cable television and internet systemsProvide Tier III engineering support to a globally distributed services team in geographically dispersed customer locations.Interface with agency and non-agency sites via emails/phone to walk them through hands-on troubleshooting.Work flexible hours, staying until the job is completed (mission is restored).Conduct site surveys, prepares configuration capture (documents) computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment impacted by the cable plant.Communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences, including customers, team partners, and other staff members.Travel is required in support of service requirements ~10-20%. This position also offers opportunities to support other bodies of work, at different locations, and to travel both CONUS and OCONUS (no hostile areas).Integrate DoD serial and IP encryption methodologies into intricate networks and systems, embodying a profound comprehension of security imperatives.Execute Tier 3 LAN and WAN support across multiple domains and locations both CONUS & OCONUS using standard enterprise tools.Troubleshoot spanning diverse technologies encompassing OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, LACP, VPLS, EVPN VxLAN, QoS IP multicasting technologies, LSP, Spanning-Tree, Port-Security, and multiple Layer 2 and 3 networking functions.Assimilate DoD serial and IP encryption, augmenting the integrity of networks and systems. Minimum Qualifications:Must hold a current 8570 compliance Level II certification such as Sec+ CE or CCNABachelor's degree and 4 additional years of relevant experience. 4 years of experience may be substituted for educationProven hands-on experience with Cisco platforms (ASR, ISR, CSR, Catalyst) is required, and hands-on experience with network management and monitoring system.Possess the skills to track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.Able to complete CAN networking requirements (configurations, port security, VLAN assignments, etc).Basic understanding of site drawings, prints, schematics, and room layouts.A working knowledge of cyber infrastructure, networking protocols, with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/v6 address management and DNSBasic knowledge of the TIA/EIA color code for copper and fiber cabling systems.4 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are requiredExperience with service management knowledge in key ITSM processes including incident management, problem management, change management, service level management and knowledge managementPreferred Qualifications:Experience with customer ticketing systems such as ServiceNowExperience in a technical role with an understanding of IT equipment and service life as well as planning and implementation of equipment replacementExperience with large scale enterprise IT contractsClearance Requirements:Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ PolyPhysical Requirements:The person must be able to handle cable of varying lengths, widths and weights and the associated equipment. The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally moving about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.Able to lift at least 30 pounds.Working both indoor and outdoor environments.
