Job Summary

• Responsible for the safe transport of patients within the hospital
• Dispatch and appropriate documentation of services
• Provides material supply delivery for a variety of departments as requested

Essential Functions

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department
• Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant Licensure Preferred
• Current Georgia licensure as a Certified Nurse Aide Preferred
• EMT -B Certificate of completion of course work Preferred
• Pharmacy Tech Cert Preferred
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in Lieu of CNA Licensure Preferred
• EKG or ECG course completion certificate

*** One or more of the above certificates or Licensure is REQUIRED

• BLS - Basic Life Support Certification - REQUIRED

Minimum Work Experience

• Previous hospital or nursing home experience - Preferred

Required Skills

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must bevable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
