Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Dayton, OH

Location: Dayton, Ohio

About the role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer:

Infinitek is partnering with a well-established and highly respected engineering firm to recruit a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for their Dayton, OH operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with deep expertise in geotechnical analysis, subsurface design, and field-based consulting. Key Responsibilities:

Geotechnical Exploration & Planning

• Prepare and manage scopes and budgets for geotechnical explorations
• Review engineering drawings, site geology, and existing subsurface data
• Develop proposals and technical documentation for exploration and lab work

Geotechnical Engineering Design

• Analyze field data and classify soil samples
• Design shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, pavements, and slope stability solutions
• Evaluate seismic site characteristics and foundation settlement

Geo-Structural Engineering

• Design excavation bracing, shoreline stabilization systems, bulkheads, and underpinning solutions

Field Engineering & Consulting

• Conduct on-site investigations and subgrade evaluations
• Perform soil stabilization assessments, temporary excavation reviews, and materials sampling
• Generate clear, detailed field reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
• 7+ years of experience in geotechnical/civil engineering

• Willingness to travel locally (within 90 miles) and participate in occasional out-of-hours client events
