Summary
The Leader will demonstrate a passion for traffic and transportation engineering, an ability to coach and mentor junior staff, an understanding of managing the technical and financial aspects of a project through its lifecycle, and a firm grasp of the seller-doer role within a firm. Additionally, seeks to build new and existing client relationships to contribute to the growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
• Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Continue and strengthen client relationships within the Traffic/Transportation Industry, specific to both public and private sector clients.
• Identifies, pursues, and wins projects.
• Serves as lead engineer, approves, and signs off on work on local, state, and federal projects.
• Ensures that services provided meet the industry standard of care.
• Ensures that business is conducted in compliance with professional codes of ethics.
• Completes administrative functions in a timely manner.
• Performs technical reviews of work developed by others and provides technical expertise for studies and/or design efforts.
• Continuously interacts with clients, assuring satisfaction with Lee Engineering services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.
• Drives project performance and is responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projects.
• Collaborates with peers/leaders throughout all Lee Engineering offices to leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction, and implement best practices.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing practice areas or establish new practice areas.
• Participates in the development of technical proposals.
• Develops, mentors, and demonstrates leadership within the assigned office to professional staff to ensure growth within the firm.
• Responsible for approval of assigned staff time/expense reports, annual performance reviews, staff recruitment/hiring and disciplinary actions, including terminations in conjunction with HR/Management. Engaged in active development of assigned staff in addition to monitoring utilization of staff members to optimize opportunity for staff to reach utilization goals.

• Proficient technical writing skills for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to represent the company with coworkers, clients, professional societies, elected officials, and the public.
• Displays an in-depth grasp of traffic engineering software and tools, such as Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, VISSIM, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
